Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Using untapped inner strengths to overcome problems of the body and mind.
Ericksonian hypnotherapy is a form of clinical hypnosis that focuses on the unrecognized or unused inner strengths of an individual in order to promote wellness and overcome problems such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, addiction, obesity, eating disorders, insomnia and stress. Through a state of focused attention and inner absorption, you connect with parts of your mind and brain that will help bring about health and healing.
Myths About Hypnosis
You may have reservations about using clinical hypnosis based on entertainment acts you have seen or heard about in which people lose control and perform silly actions. It is important to know that this so-called “stage hypnosis” is completely unrelated to clinical hypnosis. During clinical hypnosis you remain in complete control of the experience. In fact, one of the goals of clinical hypnosis is to achieve a greater sense of control over thoughts and feelings that may have been controlling you in the past.
During hypnosis, the patient is not under the control of the hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is not something imposed on you, but something you do for yourself. The therapist serves as a facilitator of the experience, guiding you to make therapeutic connections with your unconscious mind. |
